I'm going to agree with MadMath on this one. What you have is incredible, but also incredibly repetitive. If you can just throw in small changes or a bridge, some sort of something to break the monotony, what you'll have will be masterful.

Damn, son.
Nothing short of excellent. I'm downloading this, and I should probably bookmark it, too.

I really like the melody in this one. It's awful catchy. But there are two problems I really have with it. The first one being it's a bit repetitive, but whatever.

I guess the thing I want to say, and this isn't to trump on your creative liscense, is that when people take a song and insert samples like the one you use at both the beginning and end, it kinda ruins the song for me (assuming I like the song - not a big deal if I don't).

My curiousity, however, requires me to ask you where it's from.

Damn, son.

I don't know what to say. No, this piece isn't exactly to my taste. Guitars and the light drums aren't my thing, I like big orchestral pieces. But that's not really the point, because it's kinda like a soundtrack to a videogame or a good movie (I value videogames higher as storytelling mediums) wherein you don't really listen to it alone and you ought not to analyze it. You listen to it, preferably as an augmentation to another experience.

I drone on. The fact of the matter is, this piece is beautiful. I can't begin to praise your ensemble and the melodies they perform. But the fact that this is not a live-played piece gives even greater praise to the quality and depth of sound with which you forged it.

I keep a list of Newgrounds artists whose work I want to thoroughly explore. That usually takes my noticing their name several times, and probably with a few of their pieces downloaded. This is the first I have ever heard of you. And you didn't just make the list, you jumped to the top. Maybe I'm not an important critic, but damned if it isn't the highest praise I can give. You've earned it.

Echo responds:

Wow thank you for the awesome review. It's fantastic to know your work is being liked and appreciated by others, since that's really what I write it for.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated :)

Truly an Experience

On it's own, I would not have reviewed it rather highly. The vocals, however, complete this experience, and give it a new feeling altogether.

Well done, sir.

So, I'm Waiting

I'm quite the fan of your work. You are, hands down, one of my favourite artists on the NAP.

I always wanted to get into music production like this. But, I never did, and not that I can't still, it's just not likely; I'm a Jack of all Trades when it comes to my internet hobbies, and I don't stress this one much, despite the fact that I'm a complete audiophile. So, because I don't have much expertise in the field, perhaps I don't understand just how long it takes to make a quality piece when I ask what the holdup is.

I don't mean any disrespect; this piece is absolutely epic, all sixty-two seconds of it. But there are few things I despise as much as previews or WIPs, because they are not full or complete songs, and I don't want to download half of an audio experience.

So because I am a major fan of your work and I very much look forward to you finishing this piece, I have been left wondering when or even if this piece will be released in the two months since you have released this preview. The last review was less than a week after it's release, so let me just be the reminder to you that quite possibly many people are waiting for your next audio soundscape. I know I certainly am.

"Swing Style"

Interesting way of putting it. Whenever I hear a song like this, with slower, deeper basslines, it always makes me think of jumpstyle (as in, the style of dance, not the style of music). It just seems like the beat is perfect to stay in time with the motions of jumpstyle (which, sadly, I do not have the practice to execute myself).

Anyway, your music is absolutely excellent, and you're top of my (ever-growing) list of newgrounds artists whose full collection of music I need to explore.

Wait, what?

It sounds good, and then I realised the first minute was nothing but the melody reapeated over and over...

This, my good man, is epic.

Most of the Top 5 these days just aren't in my taste. If it were up to me this song would be No. 1. I can spot no flaw, save for it being slightly repetitive, which is unimportant given its 'ambient' feel.

A masterpiece, my good man, a masterpiece indeed.

Azoic responds:

Yeah, repetitiveness. I listen with awe when I hear a tune that must have 50+ tracks each only contributing 4 seconds to a 5 and a half minute track. I tend to rely more on acoustic instrumentation for variation - something to work on, anyway.

Thanks a lot for the score and positive review.

This, my good man, is epic

And I insist that your excercize your creative liscense as an artist, and turn this thirty second piece into a full fledged song, using the same feel and style.

Until then, I have no genuine review for you.
