Aw damn, this reminds me of the kind of music that was everywhere when I signed up. Whatever happened to those days?

This is great. Thanks for this.

JohnnyFrizz responds:

Thank you soo much man, its a great compliment to know that this brought you back to the grand old days of NG :)

Hails!

I have a few songs of yours. I tend to lay in bed at night or in the morning listening to music. There's a lot of songs I have that I rarely listen to - I don't know why, given that I'm so selective about what I download - but I guess they get overshadowed by my poring over whatever new audio is slowly trickling into my library until it no longer feels special to listen to - there are very few songs that have kept a legendary status despite that abuse.

Regardless, I was paying much attention and noticed how excellent the song was, and decided to follow up on your name. Doing so has not dissapointed me, and I will now relish in searching through your collected works of audio masterpieces, much like the cliche-ed child in a candystore.

My ears thank you in advance.

NemesisTheory responds:

I really hope you like the rest too! Thanks for listening. <3

I really liked the image of the clichéd child in a candy store, by the way XD

"Shh Shh Shh Shh, Shut the fuck up for a second..."

That one set me off. Fucking hilarious. Well done, sir, well done indeed.

Indigorain responds:

Thanks bro, I'm glad it gave you a good laugh! :D

I downloaded this song, and I couldn't get it out of my head for two days. It still sounds great.

I'm wondering if you can tell me more about these lyrics. Where you got them and, more importantly, if they come from some original piece? If so, I'd really like to know about it.

OcularNebula responds:

most of the vocals are from an acapella version of a popular song, which might be copyrighted

I really love your jazz-like methods of playing. That doesn't much apply to this piece, because you've outright called it jazz, but you have pieces that aren't quite jazz but still have that feel to it. This includes pieces like Dysfunctional Love, and I love it when that feel spills over into your electronica - it's honestly something I've never heard anywhere before, and it's incredible.

You're fast becoming one of the major players in my music library. Keep up the excellent work.

OcularNebula responds:

Jazz is so great. I try to make and blend various styles of music, but I also tend to gravitate towards things I'm more comfortable with. Electronic dance tracks seem to be going pretty well right now, as well as an occasional piano piece.

Damn, son.

I don't know what to say. No, this piece isn't exactly to my taste. Guitars and the light drums aren't my thing, I like big orchestral pieces. But that's not really the point, because it's kinda like a soundtrack to a videogame or a good movie (I value videogames higher as storytelling mediums) wherein you don't really listen to it alone and you ought not to analyze it. You listen to it, preferably as an augmentation to another experience.

I drone on. The fact of the matter is, this piece is beautiful. I can't begin to praise your ensemble and the melodies they perform. But the fact that this is not a live-played piece gives even greater praise to the quality and depth of sound with which you forged it.

I keep a list of Newgrounds artists whose work I want to thoroughly explore. That usually takes my noticing their name several times, and probably with a few of their pieces downloaded. This is the first I have ever heard of you. And you didn't just make the list, you jumped to the top. Maybe I'm not an important critic, but damned if it isn't the highest praise I can give. You've earned it.

Wow thank you for the awesome review. It's fantastic to know your work is being liked and appreciated by others, since that's really what I write it for.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated :)

This, my good man, is epic.

Most of the Top 5 these days just aren't in my taste. If it were up to me this song would be No. 1. I can spot no flaw, save for it being slightly repetitive, which is unimportant given its 'ambient' feel.

A masterpiece, my good man, a masterpiece indeed.

Azoic responds:

Yeah, repetitiveness. I listen with awe when I hear a tune that must have 50+ tracks each only contributing 4 seconds to a 5 and a half minute track. I tend to rely more on acoustic instrumentation for variation - something to work on, anyway.

Thanks a lot for the score and positive review.

Pretty Good

For some reason the melody itself reminds me of something out of Still Alive, from Mirrors Edge (Not Portal). The sound, however, sounds like an 80's style synthesizer (in sound, not quality, which isn't a bad thing in itself) and i'm not the most fond of it.

I like pianos. The Piano interlude in this one was good. My reccomendation; make the instruments gentler and softer, use more piano. The actual song is great, but you might want to make the false-ending a little less tricking, like a with a lingering note (I was about to mention it was too short when it came back).

Anyway, great work, particularly for your first delve into a genre.

Michael425 responds:

Yeah it does sound a little bit like that song. Thanks for the all the advice. I'll try to use some of those elements in my future songs.

Thanks for the review and support.

...Wow

I've never heard two songs so greatly mixed together. I'm not familiar with SaGa, but i'll have to acquaint myself. As for Linkin Park, I like how you sped it up and used the best parts - I always felt the song was too slow.

I like the idea of the two bands working together, but I wonder how Linkin Park would react to the idea of working with a little-known Japanese band...

DJSethLee responds:

Yeah, I know XD
It workss well though. these two songs are pretty simmilar.

Now I don't like House to begin with...

And i'm going to try to set aside my hatred for christian music (which actually doesn't stem from my atheism, but from the fact that i've just never heard a good piece of christian music, save for one or two).

But this is honestly crap. What you have is a simple (and suckish) beat, and a poorly spliced choir. Plus it sounds like its covered in static.

Look, i could go into detail, but I won't. I've seen how you react to anyone who dares speak against you, but remember your place in the top five doesn't give you the right to be an elitist asshole.

Mans0n responds:

how is this in anyway helpful? nobody cares about your anti christian views. and maybe if u had a system or decent producing headphones you would know that this song is loaded with bass. and if u think this is simple the flp file would blow your fucking mind.
