Damn!

She strikes again. Pardon being sexist, but aside from being a Girl which seems uncommon here. You're also one of the best damn Audio mixers ON the Newgrounds Audio Portal. Or at least in my book. I think that stands for something.

Theres a serious vibe coming out of this one, and its got an amazing quality like all of them.

I like the fast pace and it actually has a techno feel. But when it slows down, that kind of ruined it. The comeback then had a Bittersweet feel.

What can I say? Good job. Keep the work up.

Sweet Shit

Explatives aside. I was on a music streak, and you totally just satisfied my chain listening spree.

Appropriately named, i don't feel like reviewing, and i know i will regret that later.

Downloaded, Favorited.

Crap.

Explatives aside, theres something about this. Its amazing. I demand that you do this song again. Make it longer, and make it higher quality - I'm not asking you to change anything, but i want more of it, and it should be more immersive, because its that good.

Really. Make something out of this. It will be your next masterpiece.

Haha thanks man!

Im not sure if i will, but maybe.

I lost the Original due to a a virus on my comp so i will have to redo this completely. i still might though.

Thanks a lot man!

Sweet Shit!

And i was hoping to use the word Bullshittery.

Not my thing, but this music is pretty good. I mean, it is seriously mastered. And theres something to the lyrics.

How do I put this? My mind is flooded. I don't handle many things at once, so lets get through them.

To start with. You are a Male, so its not your voice. Its amazingly mastered, so whos is it? Do you have a Girlfriend who can seriously sing? Or just a friend thats a girl? Did you hire a professional voice actor?

Next. My techno is satisfied. You didn't go over the top. Your beats are amazing and its just enough to make it right.

You have a Piano, and thats nice. But it was only an accent, so I wouldn't ask for more. Most of the background is generic and good. The problem is i can't focus on lyrics. I don't like lyrics, but when you make the song about them and do so right, it happened good.

I like the synth. I haven't heard that style of Synth in a long time, and i don't know how to describe it. Its not a Ripping synth. But i like how you left it alone in its first occurance - I'm a man about the music, not the lyrics, and my problem with the Radio is lyrics are the focus of music. The problem is, most songs i just don't care about the lyrics, and the mix masters are actually becoming Masters, leaving me longing for more than a taste of their works, not tainted with someone's singing that, no matter how good, seems to steal the spotlight.

Pardon my independant views, i'm rambling again. You only get 9/10, because thats what i feel. But you get 5/5, a Fav, and a Download. You honestly did deserve First Place this week. Maybe you'll get two weeks top 5 with a number one. But thats rare.

The hit song, "One Week" by the Barenaked Ladies was Number One on the charts for exactly One Week. At that point, they wished they had named the song "Two Months".

Oh, and i'm serious. Who did the lyrics? Its a beautiful voice and its well mastered, like the rest of the song.

LK412 responds:

This just might be the longest review in the history of NG.

This singing was an acapella i got.

It isnt hillary duff, but she sang the original. This version is sang by someone Master Blasters hired.

Haha, that was a nice tidbit at the end.

Thanks for the review, i really appreciate it.

I don't like the Ads

But i'm glad that what you do gets you somewhere.

I won't Lie. The original Anxiety Cure was good, and i Haven't liked most of your previous joint works.

I also won't lie when I find NO similarity to the original Anxiety Cure, but i haven't listened to it in a while, and thats a dramatization.

But you also didn't really do it right. I don't like most of the Vocals and how they're given a really too large presence. I feel a Rave vibe that i like, and if i visualise, i feel like the sound waves are thick - waves coming over my head in a musical ocean.

Sorry, i spent at least 6 hours in a pool in the last 2 Days.

Anyway. I don't like the vocals. Scratch that, I hate them, and thats what i feel has ruined so many of your joint works. I do like the Bass. I like the Ripping synths and the melody that connects them to the original Anxiety Cure.

Another honest truth - Its definately a Club mix. But thats why I don't go to Clubs. Well, more because I'm a minor, and thats why I can't go to Raves instead. When was the last time you were in a stadium filled with Loud music that can be heard on the east side of downtown?

I'm rambling again, and I hate it when i do that. At 8 Minutes, its pretty long, and it sounds pretty good for a quality level of less than 130 KBPS (I always capatalise acronyms. And i love Acronyms.)

At this point, I don't know what it is. I'm getting mixed feelings, but i'm also immersed and lost in the music, and i hyaven't broken half way through the song.

I love being immersed in a music like this, but i'm also lost, because my mind can't pick apart the song, i can't totally get my head around it and not only does that give trouble with enjoying it in my mind of an engineer, but i also can't give an accurate review. As such, I have to cut the review off before i can't stop, but with what I feel is a lack of actual content.

But what I can say is indeniably this - Its well mastered, but there isn't enough connection to the original Anxiety Cure. Its there, I can tell, but too hard to find, and not strong enough.

I can't describe my anger at the lyrics. I SERIOUSLY want to slap the both of you, and that docked you 4 Points. The other 1 is simply for some Idleing and some repetativeness. You need to remove the lyrics, and add more of the melody - Its too long with not enough content.

I'm rambling again, and as i said, i can't totally get my head around the music to describe it to you. I am going to download It, but you are only getting 3/5.

ApproachingNirvana responds:

Hey Foxtrot, glad to see you stop by again. Your opinions are well considered and although you dislike the vocals we must stress that this was recorded over 4 months ago (the vocals). We did not have the time to entirely redo and rerecord the vocals. On the other hand, we would really like to know what specifically about the vocals and lyrics you didn't like. That would help us improve and hopefully win you over with some of our next songs.

Also, as much as we like instrumentals and know that Newgrounds as a whole likes instrumentals over vocal versiosn, no one's going to get noticed or picked up with just instrumentals. That's not entirely true, it's just more difficult to do so. That being said - we are learning how to mix accordingly and are practicing our vocals and investing in vocal lessons as we get time.

I do want to mention, though, that our more recent songs include vocals that are much better. If you still think those are crap, please let us know what we can do to improve.

As for the length, it is a club mix and those mixes also do tend to get a bit repetitive so that was done on purpose.

Thanks for the review, we really appreciate the constructive criticism.

Long Intro

So many people make this mistake, and its horrible.

An Intro defines a song. A long Intro like this one is no good. Its too simple, its too long, its too boring, frankly it sucks. I expect it to represent the entire song, and regardless of if it does or doesn't, it gives me an impression about the song that I will not like it and I want to leave right away. This is only justified by the fact that its drawn out so long.

The rest of the song should, naturally, be better than the intro, but an intro needs to be good, and not only is the intro long, but i can't tell where a discouraging intro ends and a song that i'm hoping might be better starts.

But A third into the song is obviously no longer an Intro. And I won't sugar coat it. I do not like this song. Its plain, Its boring, Its repetative, its not very good if you ask me.

But i can literally feel the work put into it. And the quality of the song, even at only 160 KBPS (obviously not as good as at least 190) literally flows out. And that alone earned you three points.

Good day sir. And keep up the quality work - even if i don't like the song, you didn't get top spot for no reason.

DigitalPulse responds:

Long intro is in progressive house/electro, so get with it! It's just your personnal opinion about the intro being long, many people enjoyed it, but we do not hate getting peoples opinions, because we like to try and make music that a lot of people will enjoy. The only thing is, a review should also be based on 10 for the song in it's genre, and in progressive house, there are long build ups. We are not pushing away your opinion, but we would have liked a little bit more of a review coming from a progressive house perspective.

Thanks for the review,

Digital Pulse

ParagonX9 Returns!

I'm not sure where to start here.

To begin, its another Epic addition to the Chaoz series. Furthermore, its 4 minutes, and that a pretty long song for the way you do things.

I feel like something was cliched here with the layout of the song and the synths, but its still, just, got it.

You haven't been around for a while, it seems. I believe one of your songs made it into Castle Crashers... Anywho, i have a number of your songs, and a remix (i know most of my 236 or so songs off the top of my head).

Anywho. Keep up the awesome music.
